Golem of Prague Calligram Art Print

The golem is a figure from Jewish folklore created by inanimate materials and brought to life by inscribing the word אמת (truth) on its body and made lifeless once more by etching away the first letter to create the word מת (dead). This calligram artwork was created to highlight the power of language at the foundation of Golem mythology, forming the image of the golem from the word אמת itself. Historic imagery and photographs of Prague have been combined through analogue collage with the calligram design to form a visual story of the Golem of Prague.
