Collection: Abundance - Shmita Year

This year (5782) we are observing a shmita year, which means traditionally we would not harvest or plant new crops but leave the land and its fruits for all to enjoy. For those of you familiar with my work, my practice has always naturally embraced the shmita year practice, with a focus on salvaging and recycling pre-existing and discarded materials. This sustainable no waste design concept is central to my work and this collection in particular, which not only celebrates our rich agricultural history through designs featuring the seven species and plant-life symbolic to Judaism, but it's also an entirely no waste collection, consisting of salvaged and vintage materials collected in the workshop.
